abstract = "Habitat fragmentation and populational isolation is one of the
most serious biodiversitys threats. Therefore, this study
developed a methodology, using geoprocessing techniques to promote
the preservation of forest remnants on the Una River watershed,
located in Ibu{\'{\i}}na/SP, to identify areas under anthropic
pressure.. Furthermore, along with the land use and vegetation
cover study, it was created the Anthropic Exposure Indicator
(IEA), across two variables, the Circularity Index (IC), and the
Edge Effect Index (IEB). The results showed that the fragments
have mostly very elongated shape and moderate anthropic pressure,
agreeing IEB results. According to IEA the fragments 2 and 3, of
Low Una, were classified as Medium exposure and the number 1 and 4
were classified as High exposure. Regarding the Middle Una
fragments, the number 8 and 11 were classified as Medium exposure
and the fragments 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10 as High exposure. The 12 and
15 fragments in Upper Una were classified as Medium exposure and
13 and 14 as High exposure. Therefore, the IEA can be interpreted
as a potential tool for identification of forest areas with
segmentation risk . Thus, after the identification of areas under
anthropic pressure in expansion, it is essential to mitigate
future impacts and define new politics to conservation vegetal
areas. Finally, this study sought to demonstrate the possibility
to use the geoprocessing and the remote sensing as management and
planning tool of public policies for the environment.",
